What a gorilla permit costs, and how to book one

Permits sell out months ahead in peak season. Here is how the system works.

Every gorilla family in Bwindi and Mgahinga can be visited by eight people a day, for one hour. That limit protects the gorillas, and it's why permits are scarce.

How much it costs

Prices are set by the Uganda Wildlife Authority and change from time to time. Check the current rate before you budget; we confirm it when we quote.

Book the permit first. Build the rest of the trip around the date you get.

How to book

  1. Choose a sector and date.
  2. Send passport details for every traveller.
  3. We hold the permit with a deposit.
